Strengthening Europe's Digital Defenses: [PHOENI2X]

10 December 2024

The Digital Security Authority of Cyprus (DSA) is proud to announce its collaboration with PHOENI2X, a groundbreaking project aimed at strengthening Europe’s cybersecurity landscape through the enhancement of cyber situational awareness, response strategies, and resilience. This partnership reflects the DSA's commitment to safeguarding national critical infrastructures against evolving cyber threats and fostering a safer digital environment for all citizens.

The PHOENI2X 7th Plenary Meeting was held on October 1-2, 2024, in Braunschweig, Germany, hosted by AEGIS. The meeting's main objectives were to present and evaluate the business continuity plans developed for the use cases of the project and to finalize the development and validation specifications for the integration of the PHOENI2X framework into three testbeds, covering the energy, transport, and health sectors. Additionally, the meeting included technical discussions on the progress of the PHOENI2X framework components, along with a review of the project's recent innovation, dissemination, exploitation, and standardization activities.

Funded under the European Union’s Horizon Europe program, PHOENI2X brings together a consortium of leading cybersecurity experts, institutions, and organizations across Europe. Its primary mission is to revolutionize the way organizations prepare for and respond to cyberattacks by leveraging advanced situational awareness tools, automation, and decision-making technologies. The project's approach is grounded in the principles of cybersecurity-by-design and privacy-bydesign, ensuring that robust security measures are embedded into the digital systems from the outset.

DSA’s involvement in the project is mainly as a supervisory authority responsible for overseeing the regulatory and technical aspects of the project in regards to NIS/NI2 compliance. It serves as a key contributor to impact, standardisation, and outreach of the project. Furthermore, it plays a pivotal role in the validation and cross-validation of PHOENI²X use case in healthcare from a National Authority perspective, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of cybersecurity excellence and applicability to real-world scenarios.
